New security officer candidates must undergo a One Hundred and
Twenty-day probationary period, which they are assigned to a FTI (Field Training
Instructor). Each candidate receives sessions as described in the General Company
Information section of this book, which consist of police certified criteria and
information. The total training program for our officers conveys and
additional 120 hours for our general security officers and 462 hours for
all patrol officers above the state mandated training courses.
The Chief and Assistant Chief of Security personally conducts training and evaluation sessions
with each new candidate to insure all training requirements have been stringently adhered
to. All Patrol Officers receive police quality training and can interact professionally
with any law enforcement agency. After successfully completing all phases of practical
and tactical training, patrol officers are assigned a district and are allowed to work
independent of an FTI but still fall under nightly supervision of a Corporal or Sergeant.
Officers receive certificates and awards at formal ceremonies for varied training and
company achievements. Officers are also awarded metals and ribbons for such items as
Valor, Merit, Commendation, Perfect Attendance, Officer of the Quarter/ Year, Marksmanship
and Training, Lifesaving and Service Longevity (each year).
