Physical
Security Specialists offers residential and multi family housing clients
some of the newest forms of community policing ideas and techniques. Our
forum is based on family values and problem solving. Our officers
attend a state certified community policing school (VCPI) with other law
enforcement agencies.
Basic security functions performed by a general
security officer are excellent for a wide variety of common issues, but
homes and communities are different. They require a special person, an
officer who knows the people who live there, there children and pets. Our Community Officer Program is based on this
premise; An officer who knows all the people in the neighborhood. An
officer who interacts with them daily. An officer who says hello when you
come home. The piece of mind that you can let your kids play outside
knowing our community officer is watching, protecting the community from
harm. An officer who is highly trained and certified in community
policing techniques. An officer who not only recognizes problems and
liabilities, but knows how to reduce or eliminate them. Our Community Officer Program is set up in three
distinct plans: Phase I: Education and Community Evolvement.
During the first thirty days our staff meets with management to review the
community and any current problems. We then conduct a detailed security
survey of the area for lighting, environmental problems, CPTED (Community
Planning Through Environmental Design), crime issues or patterns and well
as budgetary concerns. We assist management is educating the residents on
our program. Set up community meetings, involvement programs and pass out
safety brochures / material. We would also start an introductory patrol
service for high visibility and resident reassurance. Phase II: One on One Community
Development. Special Community Officers are selected and direct evolvement
begins. Normally a Community Officer works forty hours in his / her
community. Officers patrol the neighborhood by foot and mountain bike or
other special means to ward off criminal intent and promote high
visibility observation. During this time the officer is physically meeting
every resident and family member. We get to know your vehicles, pets names
and regular visitors. We look for liability issues and more importantly
try to solve community problems with assistance from; management, the
community as a whole, local religious, government groups, civic leagues or
others who can unify a community effort to where the common thought is
"This is my home, this is my neighborhood and this is where I want to
live". Community Officers assist is setting up various programs
like; CPR classes, "Bike Safety Day" for kids in early spring,
"Community Safety Day" and "This is My Home Day"
where a cohesive community element assists others in making the
neighborhood beautiful again. Phase II can continue for many years and
constantly change to be instep with the communities needs.
Phase III: Maintenance
and Refreshment. Security
is stepped down to a patrol service level that monitors the communities
efforts and problems. The Community Officer can return on a limited or
full time basis to control or assist in any issues that may arise. Whichever way you choose to protect your property, one thing will
happen for sure...you will be able to sleep better knowing that professional eyes are
protecting your investment or property the Physical Security Specialists way.
