Specialists or Patrol Specialists, you must be able to conduct and/or have the ability to,
and meet the minimum standards:
Specific Job Description: Patrol Officer (Salaried Position) Patrol Officers serve as senior officer / supervisor for the Onsite Specialists, normal work hours are based on a (9) hour shift with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Officers are subject to emergency recall and or needs of the agency. Officers play a multi-role position in any client needs (Onsite / Patrol / Escort). Officers normally drive from location to location and conduct security checks dependant on the clients needs within a specific geographical zone. Officers may have to make arrests for criminal violations, answer calls for service for criminal activity or problems, issue traffic violation warnings / notices, drive to various parts of the state for escorts, write detailed comprehensive nightly reports showing what they observed and acted upon, Interview witnesses / victims, Prepare case reports for court and testify before juries & judges. Enforce state, local and private property laws and regulations. Direct and supervise subordinate employees in absence of a supervisor. Officers must also be able to comply with below * Onsite Specialists and Community Officers (Hourly or Salaried Position) Officers normally serve the client at one location for a specific length of time. Locations and times may vary. Normal work week will not exceed forty (40) hours for hourly paid officers, Salaried officers normally do not exceed forty (40) hours per week but hours may be extended for emergencies or at the needs of the agency. Officers must have the ability to: become closely acquainted with the property and all persons associated, complete all specific tasks assigned, monitor alarms and or closed circuit TV cameras. Enforce property regulations or state and local laws if certified / registered to do so. Investigate reported criminal activity or problems and report them to a supervisor or patrol officer. Utilize and enforce the companies "Community Policing Program", Act as central dispatch unit for all other officers; i.e.: respond to radio communications, get assistance by phone or other agency for patrol officers (call wrecker / police / fire). Officers must write comprehensive reports showing what they observed and acted upon during their assigned times. Community officers attend additional specialized
training to include community policing classes with local police
agencies. These handpicked specialists work hand in hand with the
community manager, local government agencies and the citizens of that
community to develop a method to which the neighborhood or community helps eliminate
crime and its factors. * All Officers must be able to: Officers must be able to show good judgment, common sense ethics, follow directions and directives from supervisors, accurately testify in court, follow company policy and guidelines. Officers must present a professional appearance and attitude and be able to interact with the public. Officers must be able to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other critical incidents in the face of danger. Be able to adequately function with electronic devices; pagers, phones, 2 way radios, computers. Prospective employees can call to set up a preliminary interview during which they fill out an application, receive specific details of the job requirements, sign and acknowledge the release of information request and interview with the area manager. The interviewees are then screened for potential candidates. Those who pass the initial interview are given notice that a second interview will be scheduled after a preliminary background investigation is conducted to insure truthfulness of the initial application. A second interview date is scheduled with a panel consisting of: (1-2)-patrol officers, the Area Manager, Director of Operations, and/or the Chief of Security. During this process specific questions are directed at the candidate which have been derived from his / her application During the application process, the candidate is questioned for any drug usage, credit or financial problems, and marital or relationship difficulties. We also utilize electronic means such as a polygraph should the need arise. The company Compliance Agent also conducts a complete investigation to insure the candidate has no history of arrest or convictions concerning any criminal act or deeds of moral turpitude. The Virginia State Police, Department of Criminal Justice and the FBI also back this investigation by using a nation wide fingerprint search via the AFIS System. The hiring and background process normally takes between 45-60 days before the candidate is clear to assume a position in our training program. New security officer candidates must undergo a One Hundred and Twenty-day probationary period, which they are assigned to a FTI (Field Training Instructor). Each candidate receives sessions as described in the General Company Information section of this book, which consist of police certified criteria and information. The Chief of Security personally conducts training and evaluation sessions with each new candidate to insure all training requirements have been stringently adhered to. All Patrol Officers receive police quality training and can interact professionally with any law enforcement agency. After successfully completing all phases of practical and tactical training, patrol officers are assigned a district and are allowed to work independent of an FTI but still fall under nightly supervision of a Corporal or Sergeant. Officers receive certificates and awards at formal ceremonies for varied training and company achievements. Officers are also awarded metals and ribbons for such items as Valor, Merit, Commendation, Perfect Attendance, Officer of the Quarter/ Year, Marksmanship and Training, Lifesaving and Service Longevity (each year).
