Hiring and Training Standards

Candidates for a Physical Security Specialists officer undergo a rigorous pre-employment screening which includes preliminary interviews and testing, a secondary interview with a panel of supervisors to determine absolute suitability. Each candidate is fully investigated by a full-time state certified compliance agent to insure every officer is fully licensed, investigated and has no criminal history. All officers are fingerprinted and checked by the Virginia State Police and the FBI before they are cleared to work independent of another officer or supervisor. Officers sign a "Drug Free" clause that states we will and reserve the right to test for any drug usage while employed with Physical Security Specialists at any time.

Every officer is mandated to attend a state certified training academy within 90 days of initial hire. All officers are attending classes on liability, use of force, and report writing and other essential issues required by law. In addition to all that, Physical Security Specialists conducts its own educational program which provides officers with additional technical training up to 440 hours. The basic requirements to be a Physical Security Patrol Officer supercede about 98% of the industry standards; see employment. The starting pay and benefits package for a patrol officer can exceed $23,500 per year; subsequently we can attract police quality personnel to manage your security needs.
