Rendering of the Present Church

THE PURPOSE :  Millions of dollars are being spent today on church buildings while other areas of potential investment into ministry are left at a low priority. Our purpose has always been to make ministry to people the number one priority. We realize the necessity of a church building. We simply want to make sure that the building never becomes the ministry, only a means to that end.

THE PLAN: In order to expand the ministry without incurring a lot of debt, we established a plan to move into the new facility in phases. Phase 1 eased the immediate problem of overcrowding with a larger temporary auditorium and additional classrooms and nearly doubled our existing meeting space. Phase 1 (see photos) was completed in August 2004.  Phase 2 primarily includes a permanent Auditorium, and this next phase will proceed as funds are available.

THE PRICE: The cost of Phase 1 build-out was $3.9 million, and included a loan of $2.5 million. Our desire is to complete Phase 2 on a “pay as you go” basis. This will keep our monthly mortgage low, allowing us to invest even more into ministry.

THE PRIVILEGE: God does not believe in high pressure sales pitches. When He delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, He provided them with abundant riches in their departure. “Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold… The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians,” (Exodus 11:2; 12:35-36).

And what did God intend for His people to do with this wealth? When God gave Moses the plan for the worship center to be built, He gave the people the opportunity to be a part of the project. As a matter of fact, God would allow the people the privilege of providing all the material needs for this new facility. “From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering… and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work… All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds… Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD… And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning” (Exodus 35:5, 21-24; 36:3). In this story the people ended up giving more than enough for the work. What an exciting move of God through His people! And what an important example for us.

All we ask is that you pray, and if God moves your heart, then give as unto Him. Please remember the following biblical guidance in giving:

“Each man should give what
he has decided in his heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion
for God loves a cheerful giver”
2 Corinthians 9:7
