About Us

Cable in the Classroom presents these virtual workshops and events through its Professional Development Institute, which trains teachers, parents, and school administrators to use Internet and video resources effectively and efficiently. The virtual workshops and events compliment face-to-face workshops offered by the PDI throughout the United States.

Cable in the Classroom, through its participating cable system operators and cable program networks, provides free cable connections and basic monthly cable service to more than 80,000 elementary and secondary schools in the U.S. It also provides more than 500 hours per month of programming that is (a) educational, (b) free of charge, (c) commercial free, and, (d) cleared for recording and retention by teachers.

All services from Cable in the Classroom are provided free of charge, supported by the cable industry as a public service to the communities it serves.

For further information about Cable in the Classroom, consult its Home Page, www.ciconline.org/home.htm.
