Welcome

... to Virtual Workshops and Events brought to you by Cable in the Classroom through its Professional Development Institute. The purpose of this web site is to help the education community make effective use of cable television technology and the Internet by providing pre-service and in-service teacher education and online training that will benefit not only classroom teachers but also school administrators and parents.  This site will contain a series of multimedia workshops in curriculum areas such as mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and history.  The virtual workshops are appropriate for elementary school, middle school, junior high school, and senior high school educators and parents.  They point to classroom resources that are available free of charge and are often correlated to state academic standards of learning.

This site is best viewed with Netscape or Explorer versions 3 or higher. You will also need to install RealPlayer G2 to view the video presentations and the RealPlayer versions of the slide show presentations. Read the Help page for more information on how to use this site.
